Golfer Gerry defeats small, high quality field
The Annual CTT Alumni Association Golf Outing took place in Edmondstown Golf Club on Friday 18 September in pleasant weather with the occasional shower. There was a small but high-quality field consisting of Barbara Hurley, Karen Rothwell, Mary O’Kelly, Peter Bennett, Gerry Morrissey and John McGuire. Gerry Morrissey emerged as winner of the coveted Claret Jug with a score of 35 points with Barbara being runner-up with 31 points. The day was rounded off with a very pleasant meal in the club house and the usual few glasses to welcome in the weekend.
For the first time ever, there was an international dimension to the Golf Outing with overseas Alumni competing at their local golf clubs for an international prize. Participants included Grita Seidl and Rainer Siefer in Germany and Katrin Peitz in France. Results will be communicated in due course.
I was just wondering if, following the questionnaire completed very recently by Alumni Members, which I understand may have been discussed by the Alumni Committee yesterday id there was much interest to see either Golf or Tennis organised in Nice, south of France this year. I would be very happy to organise Tennis at the Nice Lawn Tennis Club and suggest where those travelling to Nice might stay.
